HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.103RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute an Interagency Agreement #23-550 with Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District, a public agency, in an amount not to exceed $14,126, to provide funding for Fire First Responder Emergency Medical services, for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no County General Fund impact. All payments are funded under County Service Area (CSA) EM-1 (Measure H). BACKGROUND: County Service Area EM-1 was established in 1989 to provide enhanced emergency medical services, including rapid paramedic-staffed ambulance response, to the residents of Contra Costa County. Under this Interagency Agreement #23-550, the Contractor will provide First Responder and Emergency Medical services, for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015, including mutual indemnification to hold both parties harmless for any claims arising out of the performance of this Agreement. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County will not be able to distribute Measure H funds for pre-hospital emergency medical first responder services, within the Crockett Carquinez Fire Protection District, until patient care is assumed by County’s emergency ambulance contractor. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable.
