HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.91RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Department a change to purchase order with Bacon East Pharmacy to add $50,000 for a new total of $185,000, with no change in original term from Febuary 1, 2012 though January 31, 2014, for pharmacy prescriptions for mentally ill clients in Contra Costa Mental Health Programs. FISCAL IMPACT: No County General Funds. 100% Mental Health Realignment Funds. BACKGROUND: The original Purchase Order for the period February 1, 2012 to January 31, 2014 will not cover the costs of medication for uninsured Contra Costa Mental Health clients. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Purchase Order is not approved, consumers who are unable to get needed medications could end up in the Emergency Room, and ultimately require hospitalization.
