HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.81RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-433-3 with Michael Levin, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $232,960, to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services including the provision of expert testimony in conservatorship trials, for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate in-crease) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. On December 4, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-433-1 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #74-433-2) with Michael Levin, M.D. for the provision of professional outpatient psychiatric services, for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient psychiatric services.
