Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#27-168-9 with Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed
$1,700,000, to provide professional Obstetric and Gynecological services to Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP)
members for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. Costs depend upon utiliza-tion. (No
rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members
under the terms of their Individual and Group Health plan membership contracts with the County.
On January 8, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-168-8 with Planned Parenthood:
Shasta-Diablo, Inc., for the provision of Obstetric and Gynecological services to Contra Costa Health Plan members,
for the period from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Contract #27-168-9 will allow Contractor to continue providing Obstetric and Gynecological services
through September 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, this specialty provider in the community provider network would not be able to
provide family planning and OB/GYN medical services for CCHP members and County recipients.
