HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.57RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the Lease with First Baptist Head Start for a three-year term beginning November 1, 2013 and ending October 31, 2016, for approximately 6,300 square feet of childcare facility space located at 55 Castlewood Drive, Pittsburg, at a rent of $750 per month, as requested by the Employment and Human Services Department – Community Services Bureau, under the terms and conditions set forth in the Lease. (WLP823) AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Lease on behalf of Contra Costa County (County), and to exercise any options to extend the Lease term. FISCAL IMPACT: This Lease will obligate the First Baptist Head Start to pay to the County total rent of approximately $27,000 over the three-year term of the Lease. First Baptist Head Start has been a tenant of the County since July 2002. Approval of the Lease will allow First Baptist Head Start to continue providing Head Start services at this location. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Lease is not approved, First Baptist Head Start will not be able to provide Head Start services from this location, and the County would have to find a new operator to provide those services at this location.
