FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: On February 5, 2013, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2013/76 which established the deep class of Deputy County Counsel - Exempt. In the intervening months, it has been realized that certain clarifications to the deep class resolution are required to conform to the County's salary regulations, to be consistent with established practices regarding attorney advancement in the County Counsel's Office, and to make other technical revisions consistent with the exempt nature of this deep class. The proposed amendment provides the necessary clarification and will supersede Resolution No. 2013/76 as to existing and future attorneys in the Deputy County Counsel - Exempt classifications. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this action is not taken, it will result in inconsistent practices with regard to attorney advancement in the County Counsel's Office.
