HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.51RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5013 authorizing new State Subvention Fund revenue in the amount of $85,793 for staff and training costs the Veteran Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Additional State funding has been granted by the State Department of Veterans Affairs in the amount of $85,793. The County may not supplant current funding with these dollars, but does not need to match. Therefore, the Veterans Services Department 2013-14 fiscal year operating budget will have an increase to the revenue received, but there will be no impact to the County General Fund. BACKGROUND: The California State Budget Act included additional funds for County Veterans Service Offices (CVSO) for operational and training costs. The Contra Costa County share of these additional funds was $85,793. These funds may not be used to supplant existing county funding for CVSO operations and may only be used to enhance those services. The Department is recommending that the additional funds be used for staffing and training expenses.
