HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12032013 - C.07RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director or designee, to execute the month-to-month Rental Agreement effective November 16, 2013, between Contra Costa County (County) and Armando and Rosario Esparza on behalf of the County (Project No.: 4660-6X4170) AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to issue a check in the amount of $625.00 for the period of November 16, 2013 through November 30, 2013 and $1,250.00 per month, beginning December 1, 2013 until the close of escrow or possession of the Property by the County, as outlined in Rental Agreement, payable to Armando and Rosario Esparza, 2981 Chevy Way, San Pablo, CA 94806. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Contra Costa Transportation Authority funds. Project Number 4660-6X4170 BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Project (Project) in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. The County is in the process of acquiring the Property improved with a single-family house and located at 3168 Rollingwood Drive in San Pablo. Since the County cannot prevent the owner from renting the house before the County has acquired the property for the Project, the County needs to enter into a Rental Agreement with the property owner to minimize relocation costs that may occur for new occupants. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County could be liable for additional relocation expenses if the property is rented to new tenants. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
