Subject:CSA with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for the Byron Highway and Camino Diablo Intersection Improvements
project, Byron area.
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
the proper and satisfactory execution of the Byron Highway and Camino Diablo Intersection Improvements project.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was selected to provide these services after completing a request for qualifications
solicitation and interview process that put them on a short list with four other firms to provide consulting services for
future projects. The County requested and received technical proposals from three of the five short-listed firms to
provide consulting services for the project. Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was selected by a selection committee
as the firm that was best able to address the County’s needs for the project.
Public Works has successfully negotiated with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide the professional
engineering services.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without Board of Supervisors’ approval, the Consulting Services Agreement will not be in effect. A delay in the
design and construction of the Byron Highway and Camino Diablo Intersection Improvements project will occur,
ultimately delaying completion of the project. Project delay may also result in substantial additional project costs and
jeopardize the funding.

Not applicable.
