APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer, Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation
District, or designee, to execute an amendment to an Interagency Agreement with the Regents of the University of
California (UC Berkeley) for homeless encampment research, to extend the term from November 30, 2013, through
January 31, 2014, Concord and Pleasant Hill areas.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project is funded by Flood Control Zone 3B (100%).
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District entered into the Interagency Agreement
(agreement) with UC Berkeley in July of 2012. UC Berkeley has completed the scope of work under the agreement.
UC Berkeley has asked that the contract date be extended to the end of January 2014 so that they can comply with
their process rules related to closing out agreements.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the agreement is not approved, UC Berkeley will be out of compliance with their internal rules on closing out
agreements.
