HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11122013 - C.05RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order amendment with Royal Petroleum to increase the payment limit by $125,000 to a new payment limit of $300,000, for diesel and unleaded fuel, with no change to the original term of February 1, 2013 through January 31, 2014, Countywide. (100% General Fund) FISCAL IMPACT: This cost is to be funded through the Fleet Internal Service Fund maintenance budget. BACKGROUND: Public Works Fleet Management (Fleet) is responsible for the County fueling station on Waterbird Way in Martinez. Fleet purchases fuel for the station by accepting daily bids from fuel distributers. Fleet currently has five vendors submitting bids. Royal Petroleum has been the lowest bidder on the 5% biodiesel fuel used by Fleet, which has caused the purchase order with them to be used more rapidly than projected. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the value of their current purchase order.
