Subject:Agreement #23-474-1 with the State of California, Office of Administrative Hearings
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
County is required to schedule an appeal with the State of California, Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH). The
County only has fifteen (15) days from the appeal request to notify the individual of the OAH hearing. This agreement
is necessary to schedule hearings through OAH.
Approval of Agreement #23-474-1 will allow the County to continue to utilize the hearing services of the State of
California as required by law and regulations through September 30, 2018.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this agreement is not approved, the County will not be able to conduct required appeal hearings and would,
therefore be unable to enforce EMT-1 certificate denials or disciplinary actions, which would create a potential
danger to the public health and safety, and place the County at risk for liability.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
