Miner, Executive Director Cwtra Contra Costa County Private Industry Council C )sIQ DATE: January 9, 1986 C ^ SUBJECT: Authorization to Execute JTPA Employer Based Program Contracts with Four (4) Service Providers SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) a BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council, to execute on behalf of the County, JTPA Employer Based Training Program contracts with four (4) Service Providers (Contractors), to provide job training and job placement for JTPA- eligible County residents under Title II-A of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) as specified below, and subject to approval by County Counsel as to legal form: Maximum Contract Contractor Term of Contract Payment Limit 1. Martinez Bus Lines 1/2/86-6/30/86 $ 20,700 (4819-7062-0) 2. Regal Restaurant 1/2/86-6/30/86 23,721 (419--7063-0) 3. Bank of America 1/2/86-12/31/86 75,336 (4419-7064-0) 4. Worldwide Educational 1/2/86-6/30/86 14,250 Services, Inc. (#19-7065-0) II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. 100 percent federal funds. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: By its Order dated December 17, 1985 the Board authorized the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council, to conduct contract negotiations with the above mentioned Service Providers (Contractors) to operate the County's JTPA Employer Based Training Programs; these negotiations have been completed. These Employer Based Training Programs will provide for classroom training, on-the-job training, and placement services for approximately 67 JTPA-eligible Contra Costa County residents.
