HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10222013 - C.57RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-466 with Bayfront Youth and Family Services, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $150,000, to provide specialty mental health services to severely emotionally disturbed children for the period from September 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. This contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $75,000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 50% by Federal Financial Participation and 50% County Realignment. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing residential day treatment, medication support, therapeutic behavioral services and other mental health services to meet County’s demand for services at Residential Classification Level 14. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s services for Clients requiring placement at a Residential Classification Level 14 facility. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
