HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10152013 - SD.1RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2013/395 approving the Side Letter between Contra Costa County and the Public Employees
Union, Local One, to amend the Memorandum of Understanding (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2013) to supersede and
replace Subsection M. of Section 58.1.
FISCAL IMPACT:
While holiday schedules vary from year to year, there should be no fiscal impact as a result of the implementation of
this Side Letter.
BACKGROUND:
The existing MOU between Contra Costa County (County) and Public Employees Union, Local One (Local 1), in
Section 58.1.M indicates that Animal Services employees whose schedules include Saturday work will observe
holidays that fall on Saturday on Saturday. The existing MOU is silent with regard to employees scheduled to work
on Sunday. Going forward, this Side Letter will permit Animal Services management to treat employees working on
Saturday and Sunday holidays in the same manner.
The terms of this Side Letter will be incorporated into the next MOU between the County and Local One. All other
