Subject:Amendment #74-322-8 with Youth Homes Incorporated
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
with Youth Homes Incorporated for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, which included a six-month
automatic extension through December 31, 2013, for the provision of residential day treatment and therapeutic
behavioral services to SED children and their families.
Due to the closure of another treatment facility, utilization of this Contractor’s residential treatment services has
exceeded the projected levels established during negotiations. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement
#74-322-8 will allow the Contractor to provide additional residential treatment services through June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be compensated for, and will no longer provide, additional
residential day treatment as mutually agreed upon by the parties.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This Contract supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and
Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide
a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social
and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and
placement at discharge to a lower level of care.
