HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10152013 - C.43RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director,
a purchase order with Papé Material Handling Co. (dba Bobcat West) in the amount of $21,253, for the purchase of a
Bobcat MT-55 Mini Track Loader with accessories for performing Facilities Maintenance work, Countywide. (100%
General Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
The new Bobcat tractor would be purchased using existing, budgeted appropriations from the General Fund, Facilities
Maintenance Division (Org 4033, Subaccount 4956).
BACKGROUND:
The purchase of a new Bobcat tractor would provide the Facilities Maintenance Division (Facilities) of Public Works
with a smaller, more maneuverable and versatile tractor than the existing, much larger Bobcat tractor. The new
Bobcat tractor is small enough to get through a 36” opening for work in the many playground areas maintained by
Facilities throughout the County. This equipment would enable Facilities staff to complete many projects more
efficiently and cost-effectively, because the manual labor aspect of the tasks would be greatly reduced.
