ADOPT Resolution No. 21377 to ad one (1) 40/40 Medical Records Administrator position (VNHB)
($4,529.80-$5,506.00), represented in the Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The additional annual cost associated with this action will be $111,279.84 annually with benefits, including
approximately $35,610 in pension costs. The cost of this action will be offset by the Low Income Health Plan and
ACA revenue.
BACKGROUND:
The Director of Health Iinformation Management Unit has no credential support staff. The Director is currently the
only credentialed staff member for the entire Health Iinformation Management Unit operation within Contra Costa
Health Services. Contra Costa Health Services has inpatient, emergency department, psych emergency services,
psych inpatient, detention facilities, community partners, mobile healthcare and nine ambulatory care centers cannot
adequately function with a single Director to maintain all operations. A Medical Records Administrator will fill a
vacancy and assist the Director with vital operations.
