HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10012013 - C.41RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE, the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute an Interagency Agreement with San Bernardino County in an amount not to exceed $25,000 for Case Management System software in the Coroner's Division for the term of October 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% County General Fund: $25,000.00 Budgeted. BACKGROUND: For over 12 years the Coroner's Division has been using Microsoft Access to create investigative reports and track the myriad data associated with medicolegal death investigations. Between 2008 and 2012 the Coroner's Division saw a 42% annual increase in reported deaths. The increased case load, combined with the inability of the software to provide a case management function, created delays in the completion of the Coroner's Investigative Reports. A new case management system is immediately required to create, manage and maintain the reports. A comprehensive search produced a software solution developed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office and currently in use in several agencies throughout the state.
