Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County,
Amendment Agreement #26-164-21 with Agostini & Associates, Inc., a corporation, effective August 1, 2013, to
increase the Contract Payment Limit by $115,700 from $500,000 to a new total payment limit of $615,700, to
provide additional temporary nursing registry services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers and the County’s Detention Facility, with no change in the original term of November 1, 2012 through
October 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No increase in rates.
BACKGROUND:
On January 8, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-164-20 with Agostini & Associates, Inc. for
the period from November 1, 2012 through October 31, 2013, to provide temporary nursing staff to assist Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers and the County’s Detention Facility during peak
loads, temporary absences, and

At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. However, the utilization
during the term of the agreement was higher than originally anticipated.
Approval of Amendment #26-164-21 will allow the Contractor to provide additional temporary nursing registry
services through October 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not have the
appropriate staffing coverage.
