APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department Director, on behalf of the
Workforce Development Board, to apply for and accept Contra Costa County Department of Conservation &
Development (DCD), Community Development Block Grant Consortium (CDBG) funding for Small Business
Development Program services, in an amount not to exceed $61,571, for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30,
2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$61,571 Contra Costa County Department of Conservation & Development (DCD), Community Development Block
Grant Consortium (CDBG) funding. (No County Match)
BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County (WDBCCC) requests Board Approval to enter into an
agreement with Contra Costa County DCD, to obtain CDBG grant funding to provide professional training and
guidance in such matters as marketing, hiring, and financial stability to a minimum of 38 licensed low to moderate
income (LMI) business owners.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Small Business owners or potential owners may not receive consulting, training, and business information services.
