Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard
Agreement (Amendment) #29-775-22 (State #05MHF009, A13) with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical
Insurance Board, effective October 1, 2013, to amend Standard Agreement #29-775-9 (as amended by Amendment
Agreements #29-775-10 through #29-775-21), with no change in the original amount payable to County of
$34,202,678, to make technical adjustments to the agreement, and to extend the term through June 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No change in the original amount payable to the County of $34,202,678 from the State of California, Managed Risk
Medical Insurance Board for the Healthy Families Program. No County funds are required.
BACKGROUND:
On June 26, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29-775-9 (as amended by subsequent
amendment agreements #29-775-10 through #29-775-21), with the State of California, Managed Risk Medical
Insurance Board for the period from July 1, 2005 through September 30, 2013, for County’s participation in the
Healthy Families Program.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Approval of Standard (Amendment) Agreement #29-775-22, will allow County to continue participation in the
Healthy Families Program through June 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, participants in the Healthy Families Program will not receive services and the County
will not receive funding.
