ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21358 to add one Social Services Program Assistant (X0SA) position at
salary level 255 1384 ($4090 - $4972)(represented) and cancel one Social Services Welfare Fraud Investigator
(XLSF) position at salary level 255 1474 ($4471 - $5435) (represented) in the Fraud / Appeals Division of
EHSD/Administrative Support Services Bureau.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will decrease the total Personnel expense by $9,526 and the pension obligation is
approximately $3,413. This position will be funded Federal 45%, State 45% and County 10%.
BACKGROUND:
The unit has operated with positions in the classification of SS Program Assistant. Adding an SS Program Assistant
will properly staff the unit for Overpayment Fraud.

Subject:Cancel one SS Welfare Fraud Investigator position and add 1 SS Program Assistant in EHSD
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
and State reports that must be reviewed to check if applicants/recipients are reporting wages, SSA benefits,
UIB/SDI benefits, and other income correctly. The position is also responsible for computing fraud overpayments
and reviewing the various match reports.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this position is not approved, the department would not have the adequate resources to comply with the Federal
and State regulations.
