HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09172013 - C.34RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-446-1 with Neil Sachs, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $174,720, to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services to patients in West County for the period from October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. Approval of Contract #74-446-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through September 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient psychiatric services which may result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community.
