Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#74-446-1 with Neil Sachs, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $174,720, to provide
professional outpatient psychiatric services to patients in West County for the period from October 1, 2013 through
September 30, 2014.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide
specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available.
On July 31, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-446 with

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Neil Sachs, M.D. for the provision of professional outpatient psychiatric services to adults in in West County for the
period from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.
Approval of Contract #74-446-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through September 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s professional outpatient
psychiatric services which may result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community.
