Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-458-19 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $250,000, to provide temporary
nursing staff for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period
from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2015.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On September 25, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-458-18 with AYA Healthcare, Inc., to
provide temporary nursing services at CCRMC, for the period from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013.
Approval of Contract #26-458-19 will allow the Contractor to continue providing temporary nursing services, to
cover during temporary absences and a shortage of nurses in critical areas at

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
CCRMC through August 31, 2015. This contract includes changes to County Standard General Conditions,
Paragraph 19, “Insurance”.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers
will not have access to Contractor’s services which may result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the
community.
