HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09172013 - C.31RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-704-2 with Mt. Diablo Rheumatology Consultants, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, to provide professional rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On September 11, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-704-1 with Mt. Diablo Rheumatology Consultants, Inc. for the provision of professional rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including clinic session, consultation, training and/or medical and surgical procedures for the period from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013. Diablo Rheumatology Consultants, Inc. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Contract #26-704-2 will allow Contractor to continue providing rheumatology services through August 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring rheumatology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers will not have access to Contractor’s services which may result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
