HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.132RECOMMENDATION(S): APRROVE and AUTHORIZE, the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to enter into an interagency agreement with Alameda County for a training exercise for mass fatality and critical incidents for a term of October 25, 2013 through October 27, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. BACKGROUND: Alameda County Sheriff’s Office would like to use property located at 30 Glacier Drive in Martinez to test preparedness for mass fatalities and critical incidents. Office of the Sheriff staff will be participating in the exercise. The training exercise, hosted by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, will run for three consecutive days, October 25, 26, and 27, 2013, and will include a Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team demonstration (DMORT), Family Assistance Center (FAC) and Yellow Area Command with approximately 100 participants to test their preparedness for mass fatality/critical incidents. The DMORT Demonstration/FAC will be located within the Public Works parking lot adjacent to the main Public Works building and will include participation from Bay Area Coroners, EMS, Public Health, Law Enforcement, and Office of Emergency staff. The exercise would allow the Sheriff’s Office to review our procedures for a mass fatality and critical incident. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact.
