APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order
amendment with Bob Barker Company, Inc. to increase the payment limit by $100,000 to a new payment limit of
$340,000 and extend the service period from July 1, 2013 through October 31, 2013 to provide inmate clothing,
shoes, bedding, personal use items and all other related products as needed in County adult detention facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$100,000. 100% County General Fund; Budgeted FY 13/14.
BACKGROUND:
Bob Barker Company, Inc., specializes in high quality, low cost jail and prison products including inmate clothing,
shoes, bedding and housekeeping supplies. This extension request is needed for continued service while the CCC
Purchasing department is working on the bidding process for the same items.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The purchase order will not be authorized resulting in the Sheriff's Office being unable to access inmate clothing,
shoes, bedding and housekeeping supplies.
