HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.104RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22-986-6 with Concord Community Economic Development Organization, Inc., a non-profit organization, in an amount not to exceed $419,397, to provide consultation, technical assistance and program support services to County’s Public Health Division’s Community Wellness and Prevention Program (CW&PP), for the period from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 60% Federal, 20% City of Richmond, 11% County, 5% Kaiser, 4% Private non-profit. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by ensuring County and its providers are meeting the requirements of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the California Nutrition Network, as well as, supporting overall injury prevention, and obesity and tobacco use prevention. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Economic Development Organization, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for the provision of consultation and technical assistance to the Department’s CW&PP with regard to program compliance. Approval of Contract #22-986-6 will allow Contractor to continue to provide services through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s technical assistance and program support services that ensure Compliance with USDA and State nutrition guidelines as well as Contractor’s expertise with regard to injury prevention, and obesity and tobacco use prevention.
