HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.103RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22-852-12 with Greater Richmond Inter-Faith Program, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $452,288, to provide consultation and technical assistance to the Health Services Department’s Clinic Services Program for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 56% by Federal Qualified Health Care Center funds; 4% Targeted Case Management; 20% Health Services Department Community Education and Information (CEI) funds; and 20% Fees from County’s Public Health Laboratory and Vital Registration Unit. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing direct consultation, technical assistance and implementation of health education activities at various high schools. Approval of Contract #22-852-12 will allow Contractor to continue providing services including consultation regarding the Teenage Pregnancy Prevention program, the CEI unit, and the Vital Registration Unit through August 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, the direct consultation and technical assistance provided by Contractor to County’s Clinic Services Program regarding coordination of health education activities will terminate. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include a decrease in the number of teenage pregnancies in Contra Costa County.
