HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.100RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-448-1 with Edward Lau, MD, a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $266,240, to provide professional outpatient psychiatric services for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment, offset by third-party billing. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available. On September 11, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-448 with Edward Lau, M.D., for the period from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013, for the provision of professional outpatient psychiatric services for children, at the East County Children’s Clinic. Approval of Contract #74-448-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through August 31, 2014.
