For Families Free of Violence, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $203,407 to provide shelter services for battered women and their children for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: $203,407: 30% County General Fund; 70% Marriage License Fee BACKGROUND: This contract addresses the social needs of the County's population in that it provides a crisis call center number 24 hours per day/7 days a week, and provides at least 7000 emergency shelter bed days to a minimum of 100 women and children in crisis situations. For Families Free of Violence for DV Shelters BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) their children in compliance with the requirements of California Welfare and Institutions Code section 18294. Under this program, Contractor was expected to provide the following services and outcomes: A. Provide referral to community services, including, but not limited to: counseling, health and social welfare services, and follow-up on the outcome of said referrals (up to 450 services); Provide temporary housing and food facilities (up to 245 services); B. Provide psychological support and peer counseling services (up to 630 services); C. Provide support and assistance to 300 victims of domestic violence as a response from a law enforcement agency; D. Provide support and assistance to 100 victims of domestic violence as a response from a hospital emergency room, medical clinic and/or medical office referral; E. Provide two Spanish-Proud Parenting Groups (12 week groups with 16 attendees each using the Nurturing Parent Curriculum); F. Provide two Teen Dating Violence Education Groups (10 week groups with 20 attendees using the Promoting Gender Respect curriculum); G. Work cooperatively and coordinate the assessment, measurement, and evaluation of the program with County’s Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Coordinator or designee (Contract Monitor). This is a renewal contract. Contractor provides services in an acceptable fashion and meets all goals and expectations. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Employment and Human Services will be unable to provide valuable services CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports two of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card, 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing" and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes include a safe environment where victims of abuse can receive appropriate support and follow-up services.
