Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-611-5 with Dennis McBride, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $520,000, to provide
primary care physician services for patients at the County’s Adult and Juvenile Detention Facilities for the period
from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2015
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On September 13, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-611-3 with Dennis McBride, M.D. for the
provision of primary care physician services for patients at the County’s Adult and Juvenile Detention Facilities
including, but not limited to; clinical coverage, consultation, training, medical and/or surgical procedures and on call
coverage for the period from September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2013.

Approval of Contract #26-611-5 will allow Contractor to continue providing primary care physician services through
August 31, 2015.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring primary care physician services at County’s Adult and Juvenile
Detention Facilities will not have access to Contractor’s services which may result in a reduction in the overall level
of services to the community.
