Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-673-2 with Shaista Rauf, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $720,000, to provide
professional neurology services for the period from September 1, 2013 through August 31, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Fund. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On September 14, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-673 (as amended by Amendment
Agreement #26-673-1) with Shaista Rauf, M.D. for the provision of professional neurology services, for patients at
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period from September 1, 2010
through August 31, 2013.
Approval of Contract #26-673-2 will allow Contractor to continue

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring neurology services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra
Costa Health Centers will not have access to Contractor’s services which may result in a reduction in the overall level
of services to the community.
