FROM: ANTHONY DEHAESUS, DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DATE: JANUARY 14, 1986
SUBJECT: EXTENSION OF CCTAC
Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Bac group usti kation
RECOMMENDATION
Extend CCTAC to January 31, 1987.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The estimated staffing cost for CCTAC would be $60,000 at the current level of staffing.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Board of Supervisors, by Resolution 83/1140, with the cooperation of the Mayors'
Conference, established the Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (CCTAC ) to
provide a forum through which countywide transportation goals and policies could be
addressed. This resolution contained a "sunset" provision which would have disbanded CCTAC
on June 30, 1985, unless affirmative action was taken by the Board to continue it.
The Board, on June 17, 1985, extended the expiration date until January 31, 1986.
CCTAC has recently completed its review of MT-C' s proposed amendments to Senate Bill 878
(Boatwright) and forwarded their comments. SB 878 is scheduled for hearing before the
Senate Transportation Committee on January 14, 1986. CCTAC will continue to monitor the
progress of this bill and to work with Senator Boatwright's office to resolve some of our
concerns with the proposed legislation.
CCTAC has requested that the Board of Supervisors extend its term until January 31, 1987.
The Cities of Concord and Antioch have made commitments of staff assistance for CCTAC
during this term.
