HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.79RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a purchase order amendment with County Asphalt, to increase the payment limit by $550,000 to a new payment limit of $2,200,000, for asphalt and asphalt products, and extend the term from September 30, 2013 through September 30, 2014, Countywide. FISCAL IMPACT: Funded by 100% local Road funds. BACKGROUND: Public Works Road Maintenance maintains over 600 miles of roads in Contra Costa County. To do so requires tons of asphalt. As bid on Bidsync No. 0907-009, County Asphalt was awarded this commodity. The original purchase was for two years with three possible one-year extensions. This request represents the third of three possible one-year extensions. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this agreement is not approved, purchasing asphalt and asphalt products from County Asphalt will discontinue.
