HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09102013 - C.72RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator, or designee, to execute a contract with YP, for the provision of advertising space for the Contra Costa Arts and Culture Commission in exchange for services to be provided by Contra Costa Television for the period of September 11, 2013 through September 10, 2014. (Non-financial agreement) FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. This contract is for the exchange of services. BACKGROUND: The Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County (AC5) is dedicated to advancing the arts in a way that promotes communication, education, appreciation and collaboration throughout Contra Costa County so that we may grow creatively as a community that preserves and celebrates our diverse cultural expression. AC5 continually works to advocate for the arts by communicating with regional, state, and federal arts organizations. The AC5 has advocated for itself and for the arts in general through its website and Commission and/or staff participation in presentations and meetings. Commissioners and staff frequently visit other arts commissions, associations and councils. AC5 uses these opportunities to communicate progress and to find out what the needs are of these artists and arts supporters. The contract with YP will provide advertising to the public on the services provided by AC5. The contract complies with Resolution No. 91-485 regarding endorsements. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Arts Commission will lose valuable public exposure to the arts. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable.
