County
Subject:Extension of Interagency Agreement with Superior Court of California
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
(identity of the legal father). The goal these services is to improve customer service by making available resources to
better educate and guide them through the various child support processes.
The Board of Supervisors approved an initial contract with Superior Court December 4, 2012 to provide DCSS with
an onsite Family Law Facilitator. The contract was for the period of June 27, 2012 through June 30, 2013 in an
amount not to exceed $146,200. The courts were unable fill the position and provide a Family Law Facilitator until
July, 2013. No money was used from the initial contract period, therefore, we are requesting to extend the contract
date through June 30, 2014.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action were not approved, the Department of Child Support Services would not have the ability to provide
on-site family law facilitator services.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Approval of this Board Order will help the Department of Child Support Services guide and educate parents on the
processes of the child support system for the benefit of the children.
