Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #28-325-3 with Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD), a government agency,
effective March 1, 2013, to amend Interagency Agreement #28-325-2, to increase amount paid to County by
$400,000, from $2,200,000 to a new payment limit of $2,600,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012
through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Amendment will result in a total payment of $400,000 to the County not to exceed $2,600,000. (No
County match)
BACKGROUND:
On December 11, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement #28-325-2 with MDUSD for the
period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, for the provision of mental health services to special education

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
students who are residing in local and out-of-state residential facilities and students who receive outpatient services in
the schools and county-operated clinics, through Community Based Organizations that have contracts with County
for professional mental health services.
The contract payment limit was based on prior year's units of service. MDUSD enrolled additional students during
the year, and the contract ran out of funding during the third quarter.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #28-325-3 will allow the County to provide additional services through
June 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this agreement is not approved, Agency will not pay County for providing services to students within the School
District.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and
Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide
a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social
and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
