APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, or designee, to execute a memorandum of
understanding with the City of San Ramon, the Town of Danville, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and
the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District outlining membership on the San Ramon Valley Emergency
Preparedness Citizen Corps Council (SRVEPCCC) and appointing the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District as
the fiscal agent of funds received by member agencies to support the SRVEPCCC and AUTHORIZE payment in the
amount of $10,000 as the Contra Costa County member contribution to the SRVEPCCC.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$10,000; $8,000 from County Service Area (CSA) P-2B (Alamo) ad valorem and $2,000 from CSA P-5 (Round Hill)
ad valorem tax revenue. The citizen advisory committees for both CSAs have voted to use local ad valorem tax
revenue for the purpose of the County becoming a member agency of the San Ramon Valley Emergency
Preparedness Citizen Corps Council (SRVEPCCC).

Subject:Memorandum of Understanding-San Ramon Valley Emergency Preparedness Citizen Corps Council
BACKGROUND:
The San Ramon Valley Emergency Preparedness Citizen Corps Council (SRVEPCCC) purpose is to promote
training and education programs in the area of emergency preparedness for citizens in the greater San Ramon Valley
area. In addition, the Council is recognized in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) registry of local
programs established to promote community safety and preparedness. This action would authorize formal County
participation in the SRVEPCCC and payment of annual membership dues in the amount of $10,000 from County
Service Area P-2B (Alamo) and P-5 (Round Hill) ad valorem tax revenue.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Negative action will result in the County not becoming a member agency of the San Ramon Valley Emergency
Preparedness Citizen Corps Council.
