Resolution No. 2022/13
IN THE MATTER OF: Applying for and Accepting the California Board of State and Community Corrections Public Defense
Pilot Program Grant.
WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa is seeking funds available through the State Budget Act of 2021 (Senate Bill 129) to
participate in the Public Defense Pilot Program funded through and administered by the California Board of State and
Community Corrections, hereafter referred to as BSCC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors: Authorizes the Public Defender, or designee, to sign
the application and contract, including any amendments thereof; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received
hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County
agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the Grant Agreement as set forth by the BSCC.
