HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08132013 - C.53RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74-341-84(3) with Carolina Castillo, MFT, a self-employed individual, effective January 1, 2013, to amend Contract #74-341-84-(1) [as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #74-341-84(2)], to increase the payment limit by $90,000, from $90,000 to a new payment limit of $180,000, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Medi-Cal Funds offset 50% Federal and 50% State. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: In October 2012, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #74-341-84(1) [as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #74-341-84(2)], with Carolina Castillo, MFT, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2014, for the provision of Medi-Cal specialty mental health services. At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74-341-84(3) will allow the Contractor to provide additional Medi-Cal specialty mental health services through June 30, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, services provided to Contra Costa Mental Health Plan Medi-Cal beneficiaries could be negatively impacted including access to services, choice of providers, cultural competency, language capacity, geographical locations of service providers and waiting lists. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE
