HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08132013 - C.51RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-748 with Mauricio Kuri, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $240,000, for the provision of plastic surgery services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from July 15, 2013 through June 30, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by Enterprise I Budget. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services. BACKGROUND: For a number of years, the County has contracted with Medical and Dental Specialists to provide specialized professional services, which are not otherwise available in its hospital and health center. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, patients requiring plastic surgery services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers will not have access to Contractor’s services, which will result in a reduction in the overall level of services to the community.
