HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08132013 - C.33RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement Amendment #29 441-38 (State #12-78006-000, A2) with the Department of State Hospitals, effective June 30, 2013, to amend Contract #29-441-36 (as amended by Amendment Agreement 29-441-37), to increase the amount payable to County by $594,853, from $1,221,928 to a new payment limit of $1,816,781, and to extend the term of the Agreement from June 30, 2013 to December 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this amendment agreement will result in an increase payable to County $594,853 for a total amount not to exceed $1,816,781, from the State Department of Hospitals for the Conditional Release Program (CONREP). (No County match) BACKGROUND: On October 16, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement #29 441-36 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #29-441-37) with the Department of State Hospitals for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, for the CONREP program. Approval of Standard Agreement Amendment #29 441-38 will allow additional funding for County’s continuous support to provide CONREP services through December 31, 2013, including agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless the State for claims arising out of County’s performance under this agreement. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, County will not receive funds to support treatment offered by the CONREP program and may be unable to subcontract with community based organizations, including a number of board and care homes, to judicially committed patients.
