Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation
Contract #28–501–22 with Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District, a public agency, to pay County an amount not
to exceed $21,520, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program, for the period from
July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. This Contract includes a three-month automatic extension through September
30, 2014, in an amount not to exceed $5,041.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Agency will pay County the net project income received from participants, after adjustment for allowable costs. No
County match are required.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing an average of 35 congregate meals per day,
five days per week for senior citizens at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center.
On July 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #28–501–21 with Pleasant Hill Recreation
& Park District, for the period from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, which

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
included a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2013 for the provision of congregate meal
services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program.
Approval of Novation Contract #28–501–22 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows
Agency to continue providing services through June 30, 2014, including modifications to County’s standard
indemnification clause and the General Conditions.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, senior citizens who depend on County’s Senior Nutrition Program will not receive
meals at Contractor’s facility.
