HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08062013 - SD.8RECOMMENDATION(S): Acting as the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and the Board of Directors of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District, APPROVE response to Civil Grand Jury Report No. 1306, entitled "County EMS and Fire Services: A Step In The Right Direction" and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to forward the response to the Superior Court no later than August 29, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. This is an informational report. BACKGROUND: On May 29, 2013 the 2012/13 Civil Grand Jury filed the above-referenced report regarding County EMS and fire services. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: In order to comply with statutory requirements, the Board of Supervisors must provide a response to the Superior Court no later than August 29, 2013 (90 days after receipt). The last Board meeting prior to the August 29, 2013 deadline is on August 13, 2013. The Board must take action no later than the August 13, 2013 meeting in order to comply with the statutory deadline. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: No impact.
