FISCAL IMPACT: The building management differential to Clerical Supervisors is ten percent (10%) of base pay. The County is currently paying seven employees this differential at an annual budgeted cost of approximately $58,970. The additional cost of one new employee, as proposed, is approximately $8,425 ($2,081 of this cost is pension). BACKGROUND: This differential is the subject of a Side Letter dated February 1, 1998 (copy attached). The differential has been paid to several employees since that time. At the time the Side Letter was entered into, it was not required that Side Letters be approved by the Board of Supervisors. In order to support the payment of this differential to new employees as they become eligible, this side letter is presented to the Board at this time for approval.
