Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #26-305-30 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc., a corporation, effective June 1, 2013, to
amend Contract #26-305-28 to modify the rate schedule to reflect the intent of the Department, with no change in the
payment limit of $350,000 and no change in the original term of October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. The rate for gastroenterology locum tenens physicians is
being increased from $1,850 per day to $2,350 per date.
BACKGROUND:
On October 16, 2012, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-305-28 with Vista Staffing Solutions, Inc. for
the period from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013, to provide temporary physicians for Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
Due to the unforeseen absence of a full time gastroenterologist at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Health Centers, the Department needs to rely on registries for coverage; however, it has been difficult to attract
qualified gastroenterologists at the current rate paid under this Contract. The Department is requesting approval of
Contract Amendment Agreement #26-305-30 to modify the rate schedule and allow the Contractor to continue
providing temporary physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers,
through September 30, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would not be
able to provide gastroenterology coverage for temporary staff absences.
