HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08062013 - C.83RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-699-1 with Semon Bader, M.D., P.C., a professional corporation, effective June 1, 2013, to amend Contract #26-699 to increase the payment limit by $30,000, from $1,350,000 to a new payment limit of $1,380,000, with no change in the original term of August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: This Amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. Increase in Payment Limit is due to additional surgeries and on-call coverage services. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: On August 9, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-699 with Semon Bader, M.D., P.C., to provide orthopedic services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Cost Health Centers including, but not limited to; consultation, training, on-call coverage and medical/surgical procedures for the period from August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2014. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) #26-699-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional orthopedic surgeries and on-call coverage at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through July 31, 2014. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this Amendment is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and Contra Costa Health Centers would have longer wait times and possibly go untreated.
