APPOINT the following individual to the Knightsen Community Services District for a term with an expiration date
of December 31, 2014, as recommended by Supervisor Mary Nejedly Piepho:

BACKGROUND:
Effective April 6, 2013, the Knightsen Community Services District has one vacancy. The deadline for the District to
fill the vacancy was June 5, 2013, and the District did not fill the vacancy.
In accordance with Government Code 1780, the Board of Supervisors may appoint an individual to fill the vacancy
when the District has not done so, or may order the District to call a Special Election to fill

The vacancy was posted by the Clerk of the Board on July 2, 2013 and the recommendation to appoint Juliana
Wyman was then determined.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the appointment is not made and the District has to hold a Special Election, the cost would negatively impact their
annual budget.
